I spent this morning from 8 o/c to nearly 12 o/c looking for a reported Great Grey Shrike on Woodbury Common but in the end I gave up with no sighting of the bird and there was not much else to look at with only a European Green Woodpecker , a Dartford Warbler , a Mistle Thrush and this early Peacock Butterfly with a damaged wing .
I then went across to Aylesbeare Common where I saw a Eurasian Woodcock a bird that I always like to see , also seen was a Common Buzzars and another Mistle Thrush .
