Yellow-Legged Gull

I went down to Exmouth at first light this morning to have a look around the top fields around the Gore Lane area and met up with local birders Matt Knott and Derek Carter but there was not a lot on show with only a Common Chiffchaff , 2 Willow Warbler , a couple of Common Raven , and a Eurasian Jay ! but eagle eyed Matt picked out this 1st winter Yellow-Legged Gull that was in with a small flock of Herring Gull feeding in one of the fields , always a good bird to see .
A look at Exmouth Beach produced a resting flock of small waders or they were trying too ! but they were constantly flushed by joggers on the beach , in the flock were 100+ Dunlin , 60+ Common Ringed Plover , 20+ Sanderling and a juvenile Curlew Sandpiper the first that I have seen on Exmouth Beach .
