Green Sandpiper

Another look at Bowling Green Marsh from the hide got me a Green Sandpiper my first on the marsh this year and only my second sighting of the year , also seen was a single Curlew Sandpiper , 2 Spotted Redshank , 3 Whimbrel and a Bar-Tailed Godwit , an Osprey was also seen over the marsh and the Clyst Estuary where there was also a Common Kingfisher , a Water Rail , a Northern Wheatear and a Common Raven .
Todays photo is of one of our common birds in Britain a Dunnock and it is seen most days on the marsh , it is from the Accentor family and was formally know years ago as Hedge Sparrow !! a name that I grew up with and still prefer !
