Haldon Forest

On a cold dull day I went up to the Haldon Forest on the outskirts of Exeter in hope of seeing Halfinch but there was no sign of any while I was there . But I did see a nice flock of Common Crossbill and was able to get this shot of a female bird .

There was not a lot else to be seen . So on the way home I drove around an area that is quite good for Red-Legged Partridge and managed to see 3 of them near the Powderham Sawmill .
