Dalmatian Pelican in Devon !!

News yesterday of the Dalmatian Pelican that has been in Cornwall for a long time being seen in North Devon and as it is a potential 1st for Devon !! it saw Mark Bailey , Brian Heasman and myself making an early morning trip up to Horsey Island on the Taw Estuary with fingers crossed that it would still be there and as it turned out we didn`t have to wait long to uncross them lol as the bird was on the large pool showing well , we watched it for a while then it decided to fly out onto the main estuary where it spent some time on one of the sandbars , the rain then started to fall so we made our way back to the car again .
We then decided to go to the other side of the estuary to have a look at Fremington Pill where we got nice views of the long staying Glossy Ibis along 200+ Common Redshank , 2 Common Greenshank and 2 Common Sandpiper but we couldn`t find the Lesser Yellowlegs that had been there for a while !
