Myself and the boys did some birding today in Gloucestershire and Wiltshire . And we started the day off looking for a Richards Pipit near Arlingham and after much looking we managed to see the bird for a short while but it was soon lost from view again . So we then went to the Plock Court Wetland area in Longford where the superb looking male Penduline Tit showed very well and we were well pleased with that as we had already looked for it this year but it did not show for us that day .
The next bird that we went for was a Great Grey Shrike near Hawling and we soon connected with the bird but it was always a little bit distant , on then to Harnhill where 2 Grey Partridge were added to the list , a hard bird to catch up with back in Devon .
We then into Wiltshire and went to the Cotswald Water Park to look for Red-Crested Pochard and we saw 15 male and 7 females but not a lot else except a few Tufted Ducks , our last stop was at Hackpen Hill to look for Eurasian Tree Sparrow and we saw around 30-40 of them along with a female Hen Harrier and 4 Roe Deer to end a great days birding .
