Birding Somerset

The day started of well with 2 Hawfinch in the Topsham Cemetery viewed from my bedroom window . I them met up with my mate Andy and we went up to Somerset to do some birding with our first stop at the RSPB Reserve at Ham Wall where we saw a drake Ring-Necked Duck , numerous Common Pochard and Gadwall , 10 Little Grebe , 1 Great White Egret , a Western Marsh Harrier , a Eurasian Treecreeper and a Bearded Reedling .
We then had a look around different locations and we saw a Glossy Ibis and a 100+ Fieldfare near the village of Burtle , on then to Shapwick Heath where the only bird of any note was another Great White Egret , our next stop was at the Westhay Moor where we saw 20+ Little Egret and in with them were 3 Cattle Egret .
We then headed for home but on the way we stopped at the Greylake Reserve with the light dropping but we still saw 2 more Great White Egret , a Western Marsh Harrier and 2 Water Rail .
