Freezing

I took a look at the Recreation Ground in Topsham this morning and saw an adult male and female Common Goldeneye and with them was a 1st winter female bird & 2 male Red-Breasted Merganser flew past going up river , I then looked at the trees where the wintering Yellow-Browed Warbler has been showing and again today it showed well .
I then went over to the Exminster Marshes where the strong wind was freezing and really got into my bones , but it was good to see 20+ European Golden Plover these birds are usual on the marsh this time of year but I don't usually see them as close as they were today , also seen were 10 distant Barnacle Geese and a few Redwing and Fieldfare .

  1. Cool bird observations. Here, we have also been on the river of golden eyes throughout the winter, even if the air has at times been really cold.
